One of my favorite soul artists, Dwele, has release his new album. “W.orld, W.ants, W.omen” This is his fourth album and he’s always ready to tell a new story this time in 3 parts as the title says. I’m still listening to the album, trying to find out what his direction is. Normally his albums are at a steady pace and every song tells a story. In this album, I not really hearing the story…maybe I’m not listening hard enough. Maybe I’ll have to listen to it a couple of times to really get the jist of it. Normally I look to my favorite blog websites like concreteloop, soulbounce, or the couchsessions to give a a POV but there is not review out yet. Why are they holding out? Humm.. I’ll check back later with a review.
iphone
24 JunSo the day has come. The iphone 4 is out officially at 7 pm. Since I made my reservation in the wrong city (Denver, CO) I’m sitting in line at the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica at 4:30 am. There was about 50 people in line when I got here, which is mid block. It’s now 5 am and now the line is at Wilshire Blvd.
Normally, I wouldn’t wait in a line but my current iPhone is on the fritz and I rather pay $200 for a new one rather than a replacement.
So what’s all the fuss about the iPhone 4?. Well apple says that we’ll be able to video conferencing (Facetime), multi-task, watch videos in HD, and ect. Honestly I don’t really care about the new features other than I’ll have a phone that actually works.
Since I’m on the left-coast endgadget.com is coming out with reports that the iphone isn’t working with the left hand….weird. So don’t touch the left corner..or just don’t touch the phone at all. Wait?!? Isn’t it a touch screen. Oh Steve Jobs, you’ve done it again!!
**UPDATE***
So it took in 11 hours to wait in line to get an iPhone. I was completly upset about the whole ordeal. The issue stated out that there were 2 line, reserved and non-reserved, I was in the non-reserved line and got there at 4:30 am. We were told that we they would let the reserved line go first but that line was as long as non-reserved, about 2 city blocks long.
To make a long story short they we’re letting in about a ratio of 25 reserved customers to 1 non-reserved. The only difference: The reserve customers were able to get into the apple’s online store and be validated by AT&T and we’re told that they were eligible for the upgrade. The down fall of this was that the AT&T servers couldn’t handle such a large volume of requests so, these customers were *lucky* enough to get on the list and apple cut this list off at 600 or so customers. Also these customers never paid for the phones they were only validated to get one. So it dosen’t seem fair to make me wait in line for 11 hours to get a phone because the store had enough phones to make sure everyone got one on opening day. Anywho. I got one. I love it and I’m selling my old one on ebay to some sucker that will pay way too much for it. Take that apple!
